How do people really become successful?

Consistency.

People are looking for a secret recipe for success, but it does not exist.

Consistency is boring. It doesn’t sell books. It doesn’t fill stadiums.

But it works, and it has worked for centuries.

The self help industry needs to grab your attention, so they don’t market their products with boring sayings like “Consistency is Key”.

But all the new personal development books retell the same advice with a bit of a different spin.

The great advice boils down to old recommendations which stand the test of time.

I’ll admit, I love reading new self improvement books because some of the good ones are very inspiring in my opinion. But once you read a few of them, you’ll start to notice a pattern:

They all talk about the importance of a strong mindset. And from a strong mindset comes consistency. And consistent action leads to success.

Here are some quotes from a book I just finished reading:

“Ideas are worth nothing unless backed by application. The smallest of implementations is always worth more than the grandest of intentions.”

“The moment when you most feel like giving up is the instant when you must find it in you to press ahead.”

“Obstacles are nothing more than tests designed to measure how seriously you want the rewards that your ambitions seek.”

“The soreness of growth is so much less expensive than the devastating costs of regret.”

“Nothing works for those who don’t do the work.”

“Consistency is the DNA of mastery. Small daily improvements, when done consistently over time, lead to stunning results.”

“All shadows of insecurity dissolve in the warm glow of persistency.”

“Elite producers understand that what you do each day matters far more than what you do once in a while.”

“To regularly do that which is hard but important when it feels uncomfortable is how warriors are born.”

“The common denominator of success – the secret of success of every man and woman who as ever been successful – lies in the fact that they formed the habit of doing things that failures don’t like to do.”

“Legendary performers practice being spectacular for so long that they no longer remember how to behave in non-spectacular ways.”

“You become unbeatable in the world by what you do when no one’s watching.”

Even if you’re in the right place at the right time, you still need to work hard and be consistent in order to be successful.

Remember, small daily improvements, when done consistently over time, lead to stunning results. I know from personal experience that this 100% applies to building a successful affiliate marketing business.

Being consistent is a product of a strong mindset, and your mindset is the key to everything. The sooner you accept this, the better off you’ll be.

I can give you the road map to success, but you need to walk to the destination.

I can give you a list of things you need to bring, and warn you about all the dangerous encounters along the journey, but YOU need to take each step.

Those who quit and don’t become successful (or reach whatever destination they’re going after) often don’t have the proper mindset.

The system works, the map is accurate, but not everyone can successfully navigate it and make it to the final destination.

So what can you do?

Well, no one can teach you to WANT something. No one can teach you to be ambitious. You can’t take a magic pill and suddenly become ambitious. You need to at least possess some form of desire for reaching your destination.

You can’t learn to “want” to be successful from a book. It’s something you either have inside you, or you don’t.

So you need to bring that yourself, and the fact that you’re reading this means you probably have that aspect within you, which is very important.

But you CAN work on developing your mindset, which leads to higher levels of consistency, which ultimately leads to success. It’s more complicated that this, but at the core, being “successful” (achieving your goals) boils down to consistent action towards your goal. Consistent action is only possible with the proper mindset.

If your goal is to build a successful online business with affiliate marketing, I can give you the map, but you need to travel to the treasure, and dig it up.

There are maps available to any kind of treasure.

If you want to sell real estate, there’s a map for that. If you want to do web design, there’s a map for that. If you want to do affiliate marketing there’s a map for that.

Finding the proper map can be a bit of a challenge, but it’s actually the easy part. Actually walking / driving / climbing or whatever metaphor you want to use is the hard part. And you can’t get to your destination without the proper mindset.

So I would recommend you start working on building a strong mindset every single day.

Some of the quotes above were from a book called The 5 Am Club by Robin Sharma.

I really enjoyed reading it. It’s a fictional story which covers the importance of a morning routine.

If you don’t like reading full books, you can consider listening to audio books or services which summarize the key takeaways from books. These services cover a bunch of personal development topics which can help development your mindset.

Bottom line, work on your mindset and personal development EVERY SINGLE DAY, along with working on your business.

Hope this helps.
